In 1989, I began my career as a prosecutor in Manhattan. Working in the Trial Division, I prosecuted violent and white-collar crimes. Later, in the Investigation Division, I prosecuted international organized crime involved in narcotics manufacturing, distribution, and money laundering.
In 1994, I became trial counsel for Chubb insurance company, handling general liability cases ranging from motor vehicles to medical negligence. I also managed director and officer liability cases involving discrimination, harassment, fraud, and fiduciary duty violations.
Since 1998, I’ve been in private practice, representing clients in serious personal injury, wrongful death, construction incidents, civil rights violations, criminal matters, and more.
From 2016 to the present, I’ve served on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
From 2017 onwards, I’ve been on the Board of Directors for The Phoenix, the largest sober active community in the nation, assisting over 26,000 people recovering from substance abuse disorder.
In 2008, I volunteered for Lawyers Without Borders as an independent legal observer for the “Caprivi trial” in Namibia, the longest criminal trial in history. I also worked with the Bernard Nordkamp Centre, educating and caring for Namibian children. Presently, I serve on the Board of Directors for Kids in Namibia Deserve Love and Encouragement (KINDLE).
I’ve practiced martial arts for over twenty years, earning the rank of san dan (2nd degree black belt) in Seido Karate in 2002. I continue training in various disciplines and was a volunteer instructor at the Young Adult Institute (YAI) in Manhattan for approximately five years, teaching martial arts to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
I live in New York City with my wife and children.
